Assam BJP releases its Panchayat Poll Manifesto at party office in Guwahati

Guwahati: Chief Minister Sarbanada Sonowal along with State Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJP State president Ranjit Dass released the election manifesto for the ensuing Panchayat Polls at the state BJP office on Wednesday. Two songs for the polls campaign were also released.

Addressing the media, Ranjit Dass stated that one song out of the two will be in the Assamese language and another song will be in the Adivasi language.

It is to be noted that both the songs were produced by the same team that produced the song "Xokolote Ananda Sarbananda" during the Assam Assembly Election in the year 2016.

The first song is produced and penned down by Pabitra Magherita, music by Jojo and sung by popular singer Neel Akash and the second song is also produced by Pabitra Margherita and sung by famous Adivasi singer Sajan Nayak.

Also CM Sonowal said, “We are confident that the people will accept us with open arms. We will form a corruption free Panchayat Raj under the aegis of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas.”

"For people to get these benefits we want to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system riding it of corruption so that it can work in the interest of the people of the state", CM Sonowal added.

It may be mentioned that the Panchayat polls in Assam will be held in two phases on December 5 and December 9 in 26 districts and 14 civil sub-divisions.

Counting of votes will be taken up on December 12, according to the election schedule.
