Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha demand bonus before Durga Puja

GUWAHATI: The Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) has demanded 20 per cent bonus for the tea workers ahead of the Durga Puja.

In a press statement, ACMS executive member Lokheswar Tanti said it is a tradition to provide bonus to the tea workers ahead of the Durga Puja every year. In this regard, a resolution was taken out during a meeting of the representatives of various tea workers and owners' organizations.

A similar meeting was held in August 26, 2020 where it was decided to release 20 per cent bonus three weeks prior the Durga Puja. Thus, the ACMS has demanded the State government to release the bonus ahead of the festival.
