GUWAHATI: The Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) on Tuesday stated that they will stage a series of protests in various tea gardens of the State from September 16.

The ACMS demanded their wages to be fixed along with solution to the various issues faced by the tea labourers.

According to the tea body, On September 16, the workers will stage demonstrations in front of the tea garden offices and will submit memorandums to the Chief Minister.

On September 22, the tea workers will stage an hour-long protest in front of the SDO (Sub Divisional Officer) (Civil) Office and Circle Office. Following the demonstration all units will submit a memorandum to the CM through the SDO (Civil) and Circle offices.

Further, the body said that on September 29 the tea labourers will form human chains alongside the National Highways, State Highways and nearby roads demanding solution to their problems.

The ACMS underlined that will continue their demonstration if the government does not address their issues.
