Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangstha to protest on May 22 against Cabinet's decision

GUWAHATI: The Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangstha (ACMS), on Monday, stated that they will stage a protest on May 22 against the Assam Cabinet's decision to extend working hours of labourers from 8 hours to 12 hours. The protest will be staged at various tea gardens of the State. "The decision taken by the Cabinet is against the labour laws. The law permits a person from working more than 8 hours; now the Cabinet is trying to abuse the rights of the labourers," said ACMS general secretary Rupesh Gowala.
