Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal pays tribute to Bir Lachit Barphukan on his Jayanti

CM Sonowal took to Twitter and posted a video where he was seen lighting the lamp in front of Bir Lachit Barphukan's Photo paying his humble tribute.

In his tweet, he wrote, "Paid my humble tributes to legendary Ahom General, Bir Lachit Barphukan on his Jayanti. He made history by displaying exemplary patriotism, courage & bravery during the Battle of Saraighat, which will remain inscribed in golden letters."

Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said in his tweet, we wished for the revival of Assam with the ideals of heroism on the day of Lachit Divas.

He wrote on Twitter, "দেশৰ কাৰণে শুনিলা এদিন মৃত্যুৰ আৱাহন, জাতিৰ বুকুত জগাই তুলিলা দুৰ্মদ যৌৱন। (নৱকান্ত বৰুৱা) অসমীয়াৰ বীৰত্বৰ প্ৰতীক লাচিত বৰফুকনৰ অতুল সাহস-দেশপ্ৰেমে চিৰকাল লুইতপৰীয়াক সঞ্জীৱিত কৰি ৰাখিব। লাচিত দিৱসত বীৰগৰাকীৰ আদৰ্শৰে অসম পুনৰুজ্জীৱিত হৈ উঠাৰ কামনা কৰিলোঁ।"
