Guwahati: The very first Annual Awards of Assam Cricket Association was organised at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. The event was graced by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, along with the office bearers of ACA, president Romen Dutta and secretary Devajit Saikia.

The event saw the prizes being awarded to the players who excelled in the 2019-2020 session. They were awarded prizes with cash for scoring a century, and for taking 5 wickets in an innings and 10 wickets in a match.

Sonowal also presented the awards in the event on Friday evening. He took to Twitter to share this news:

"Glad to present the first Annual Awards of Assam Cricket Association (ACA) at Barsapara Stadium, Guwahati. Assam Cricket is on the rise, and I am sure this annual award will further encourage cricketers, coaches and organisers to do their best for the sport."

The 'Player of the Season Award', 'Coach of the Season Awar' and 'Promising Player of the Season Award' was also introduced by ACA.
