Assam Education Department: Teachers’ Body Demands Provincialization of Services

STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI, Sept 3: The Non-provincialised High School and High Madrassa Teachers’ Association has appealed Dispur to provincialize their services at the earliest.

Talking to the reporters on Monday, members of the Association said that following the ‘Assam Venture Educational Institution (Provincialisation of Services) Act, 2011’, numbers of school teacher’s jobs were provincialised. However, the services of those teachers teaching in various schools established between 2004 and 2006 were left out. “This was completely an injustice done to us,” the Association said.

Notably, the ‘Assam Venture Educational Institution (Provincialisation of Services) Act, 2011’ was amended in 2018. “Even after the amendment, our services were not provincialized,” the Association further said.

Stating that the present regime promised to provincialize their services, the Association said, “The BJP government has also been following the same apathy as that of the Congress,” the Association alleged.
