STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI: Assam Excise Portal developed by AMTRON created history on Saturday by winning the SKOCH Award in the corporate excellence category in the highest rank of platinum which is considered as the top most framed rank of this prestigious award ceremony in its 58th edition.

The announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in opening up a new highway of broadband and internet four years ago has seen a massive positive response from all over India. This announcement of the Prime Minister was seen as a firm dream of Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal which ushered in a upsurge trend of adoption of digitalization across the state.

The Excise Department of Assam took it as a major challenge to convert the whole department into a paperless environment and this policy was hence implemented with a firm dedication under the leadership of Excise Minister Parimal Suklabaidya.

The award was conferred by the Chairman of SKOCH group Samir Kochhar in New Delhi on Saturday to the Chairman of AMTRON and MLA of Ramendra Narayan Kalita, Managing Director of AMTRON MK Jadav IFS and Commissioner of Excise Asam.
