Assam: Fifth phase of Gunotsav 2024 from Jan 3 to Feb 9
The fifth round of Gunotsav 2024 will be held within the period of January 3, 2024, to February 9, 2024.

GUWAHATI: The fifth round of Gunotsav 2024 will be held within the period of January 3, 2024, to February 9, 2024. The Gunotsav will be organized in a total of three phases, covering 31 districts. The mission director of Samagra Shiksha Assam (SSA) issued the schedule of the Gunotsav 2024. According to the schedule, the first phase will cover 11 districts, including Barpeta, Karimganj, Kamrup, Karbi Anglong, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Sibsagar, South Salmara-Mancachar, and Udalguri. The date of the self-evaluation for the first phase of Gunotsav will be January 3, 2024, and the external evaluation will be held on January 4, 5, and 6, 2024.
The second phase of Gunotsav 2024 will cover 11 districts, which will include Baksa, Chirang, Charaideo, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Golaghat, Hailakandi, Jorhat, Kamrup (M), Sonitpur, and Tinsukia. The self-evaluation for the second phase will be on January 9, 2024, and the external evaluation will be on January 10, 11, and 12, 2024.
The third phase of the Gunotsav 204 will cover 10 districts, which will include Bongaigaon, Darrang, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Cachar, Nalbari, Morigaon, Dima Hasao, Majuli, and West Karbi Anglong. The self-evaluation for the third phase will be on February 6, 2024, and the external evaluation will be on February 7, 8, and 9, 2024.
Gunotsav, an initiative of the Government of Assam, is conducted in all elementary and secondary schools (government) in the state. All ministers, civil servants, and officers of various departments of the state government are involved in Gunotsav. Student-based assessment of learning outcomes is conducted through Gunotsav, covering all elementary and secondary schools (government) in the state.
It may be mentioned that Gunotsav 2023 was conducted from January 18, 2023, to February 18, 2023, in three phases. In these three phases, Gunotsav was held in a total of 44,531 schools (government and provincialized, Tea Garden Management schools, Adarsha Vidyalaya, Tea Garden Model schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Avasiya Vidyalaya). 41,35,163 students from classes I to IX have been evaluated by external evaluators, and the grading of schools has been done for 41,507 schools (excluding schools with enrollments less than 15).
The results of Gunotsav 2023 showed that 11886 schools received an A+ grade, 19172 schools received an A grade, 7710 schools received a B grade, 1972 schools received a C grade, and 767 schools received a D grade.
