Assam Floods: EPFO settles 99% claims

GUWAHATI: In view of the difficulty faced by the people of Assam due to floods, the officials of the two regional offices of EPFO at Assam - Regional Office, Guwahati and Regional Office, Tinsukia - made an all-out effort by coming at office at 7 am and staying back till 9 pm to settle EPF/pension/insurance claims submitted by employees covered under the EPF & MP Act, 1952.

As a result, as on 25/06/2022, Regional Office, Tinsukia have settled all claims received up to 24/06/2022 and Regional Office, Guwahati have settled 99% of the claim workload during June 2022 (received up to 21/06/2022).

During the period from June 1, 2022 to June 24, 2022, 17,241 claims were settled and a total of Rs 59 crore have been released to the employees.

EPFO is also striving to release pension on the day of superannuation to members of Employees Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS 1995) . If an employee can submit their pension claims complete in every respect at least 15 days before attaining 58 years of age or 60 years in case employee opts for differed pension, EPFO can issue PPO on the day of superannuation to such members, a press release said.
