Assam Government creates 850 teacher posts for 422 tea garden-managed schools

GUWAHATI: Narayan Konwar, the Secretary to the Government of Assam for the Education Department, wrote to the Accountant General for the Government of Assam regarding the creation of 850 posts in a total of 422 recently provincialized schools managed by tea gardens across multiple districts of the state for financial approval.

The letter mentions a variety of posts in these tea garden-managed schools, ranging from one headmaster post to two posts of science teachers in upper primary schools. Five positions of graduate teachers in high schools, 838 assistant teachers in lower primary schools, and four assistant teachers in upper primary schools across the state bring the total number of posts to 850.

Out of the total number of posts in the tea garden-managed schools, Charaideu district has six posts, Tinsuka has 246, Baksa has 12, Darrang has four, Karbi Anglong has eight, Kokrajhar has six, Nagaon has 62, Biswanath has 78, Sonitpur has 114, Udalguri has 48, Jorhat has four, Lakhimpur has 22, Goalpara has two, and Dibrugarh has 238 posts.
