Assam Governor administers oath to Vice Chancellor of Majuli University of Culture

GUWAHATI: Assam Governor cum Chancellor of Majuli University of Culture, Prof Jagdish Mukhi administered the oath of office to Prof Nirode Boruah as Vice Chancellor of Majuli University of Culture at a function held in the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.

Earlier, Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor SS Meenakshi Sundaram sought the permission of the Governor to start the proceedings of the ceremony.

The ceremony was attended among others by the Education Minister of the State, Dr Ranoj Pegu, Advisor Education, Government of Assam, Prof Nani Gopal Mahanta, Advisor Chancellor's Secretariat Prof MK Choudhury, Vice Chancellors of different universities, and senior officers of the State Government, informed an official communiqué.
