Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi administers oath to new VCs

GUWAHATI: Assam Governor-cum-Chancellor of universities Prof Jagdish Mukhi administered the oath of office to Prof Prahlad R Joshi as Vice Chancellor of Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit & Ancient Studies University and Prof Jiten Hazarika as Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University at a function held in the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan on Thursday.

The ceremony was attended, among others, by the First Lady of Assam, Prem Mukhi, Assam's Education Minister Dr Ranuj Pegu, Education Advisor to the State Government Prof Nani Gopal Mahanta, Advisor to the Chancellor's Secretariat Prof MK Choudhury, Commissioner and Secretary of Higher Education MS Manivannan, Vice Chancellors of different universities, Secretary of Higher Education Dr Deepak Mazumdar, and senior officers of the State Government.
