GUWAHATI: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi said that the best way to serve the fellow human beings is by adherence to the salient principles of the lessons taught by Lord Jesus Christ.

Speaking at the 175th jubilee celebrations of Guwahati Baptist Church in the city here today, Prof. Mukhi said that the churches play the role of catalyst to spread the teachings of Jesus Christ to make the society ideal for everybody’s living. He however said, “It is a matter of great satisfaction that empowered by the teachings of Jesus Christ who was born as the Prince of Peace, Guwahati Baptist Church has been spreading the message of humbleness and courage to stand by the truth as the core human quality. He also hailed the role of Guwahati Baptist Church to have been promoting equality to all human beings irrespective of religion, caste, ethnicity, gender, culture and languages. He also appealed to the people to refer to Jesus Christ’s message of love even to those people afflicted with disease like leprosy and other dreaded diseases and love them and treat as indispensable members of the society.

The Governor also said that it is heartening to know that Guwahati Baptist Church for the years together has been spreading the message of Jesus Christ’s forgiveness to enemies and reconciliation from bottom of heart and showing the path of righteous as the way of life.

Governor Prof. Mukhi said that Jesus Christ’s teaching become all the more important when it comes to issues concerning women, children, the poor, and vulnerable sections of society to give them solace, empathy and dignity of life. The dedicated service provided by Guwahati Baptist Church to the most marginalized, hated, neglected section of people is really noteworthy, the Governor added.
