Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi contributes Rs. 3,50,000 to CM’s Relief  Fund

Guwahati: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi contributed one month’s gross salary amounting to Rs. 3,50,000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support the Assam government’s relief operations against the Coronavirus outbreak, a press release said. The Governor’s Principal Private Secretary SN Bhowmick handed over the cheque to the Chief Minister at the latter’s office chamber in Janata Bhawan on behalf of the Governor. The Governor also appealed to all to contribute generously to the Chief Minister’s relief fund and also to extend support to the government to avoid social gathering and showing solidarity with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a nationwide lockdown to break the vicious chain of infection induced by the novel coronavirus, a press release said.
