GUWAHATI: Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi on Saturday released a book on Srimanta Sankardeva, titled 'Bareko Koroho Pranam' written by Dr Jagadindra Raychoudhury at the Raj Bhavan, stated a press release.

The book is a biography with scientific analysis of Srimanta Sankardeva from his forefathers to his nirvana at Cooch Behar. The writer has narrated various activities of Srimanta Sankardeva and analyzed his works scientifically as a conservationist, taxonomist, social scientist, physiologist, musical therapist and so forth. Srimanta Sankardeva also promoted tourism, science and travelled for a long period across India.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor appreciated the efforts of the author and said that a person who writes a book on Srimanta Sankardeva has to go through a lot of research. Mukhi said that it is very tough to write about a multi-faceted personality like Srimanta Sankardeva, especially with scientific analysis. This book tries to depict a different aspect of the saint.
