Assam govt. starts Rapid Antibody tests at Spanish Garden in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Assam govt. has started Rapid Antibody tests at Spanish Garden in Guwahati. An official tweet was sent out on this.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had tweeted, "After final nod from @ICMRDELHI, we've started Rapid Antibody tests for #COVID19 from Spanish Garden - a containment zone. GoI has given 9600 Rapid Antibody test kits for IgM/IgG to Coronavirus. Test is non-confirmatory yet useful for mass surveillance. Gives results in 15 mints."

The containment period of Spanish Garden premises in RG Baruah Road here was extended for more 14 days, said a notification issued by District Disaster Management Authority on Sunday.

The decision was taken in accordance with the revised COVID-19 guidelines. The notification stated that, “This order is made under ‘The Assam COVID-19 Regulations 2020’ and any violation of this order will attract action.”

The Spanish Garden premises were sealed earlier this month after one of its residents named Manish Tibrewal had tested positive for COVID-19. He was admitted to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and released on Sunday after a series of tests.
