Assam Health Department: Special vaccination drive for chronic patients

GUWAHATI: The Health Department has decided to start a vaccination drive for the people suffering from cancer, diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, chronic liver disease, HIV, tuberculosis, and such chronic illness.

The special vaccination days for chronic patients will be conducted on all Saturdays and Sundays at all COVID Vaccination Centres where preference will be given for such patients.

The Health Department underlined that the medical college hospitals and State Cancer Institute, Guwahati shall undertake vaccination of all cancer patients reporting at the OPD (Outpatient Department). Additionally, all health institutions in the State including the Central government and private health institutions have been directed to give priority to the vaccination of such patients.
