Assam Jatiya Bidyalay closed for six days after two teachers test COVID-19 positive

GUWAHATI: Assam Jatiya Bidyalay located in Noonmati, Guwahati, has been closed for six days after two teachers of the school tested positive for COVID-19. The management of the school has shut down offline classes from Monday (November 29) to Saturday (December 4).

The school authorities conducted random RT-PCR tests on teachers, students and non-teaching staff on November 26 and November 27. Two teachers were found to be COVID-19 positive after the test results were declared on Sunday. There are unconfirmed reports that a few students of the school have also contracted the virus. Over the past few weeks, several city schools had to discontinue offline classes after students and staff members tested positive for COVID-19.
