Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Bhupen Bora: Eviction in Dolu TE anti-labourers

GUWAHATI: APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) president Bhupen Bora said the eviction drive carried out in Dolu-Mainagarh Tea Estate in the Cachar district "is an undemocratic, autocratic and anti-labourer plot of the State Government.'

Talking to the media today, Bhupen Bora said, "The government started the eviction in the tea garden to hand over the land to businessmen in the name of a greenfield airport. The eviction drive continued defying the wailing of the tea labourers. They felled numerous trees, besides the houses of labourers and tea bushes. We demand the State Government stop the eviction drive immediately, failing which it will have to face the consequences."
