Assam Pradesh Congress Committee releases BTC poll manifesto

GUWAHATI: The Congress has published its election manifesto for the BTC poll.

Releasing the manifesto at Rajiv Bhawan here on Sunday, APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) president Ripun Bora said, "The Congress will be the king maker in the formation of BTC this year. No party can win more than ten seats in the BTAD this year. With support of the Congress-AIUDF, no party can form the Council in the BTAD this time around."

In its manifesto, the Congress promised to hold the VCDCs (Village Community Development Council) election that couldn't be held over the years. It also promised equal development and opportunities for all in the BTAD.

While the Congress has fielded 13 candidates the AIUDF fielded 7 candidates in the BTC poll.
