GUWAHATI: The APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) has urged the State government to bring in stricter rules to ensure safety of women in the State.
Expressing deep concern at the death of Nandita Saikia following the attack on her by a youth, the Congress demanded exemplary punishment to the perpetrator of the crime.
The APCC has also demanded that the government must conduct a probe into the entire incident, stated a press release.
