GUWAHATI: The offices in Janata Bhawan, the nerve centre of the State administration, resumed officiating with 30 per cent employees from Monday after the 21-day lockdown in Kamrup (M) district.

Since COVID-19 has spread all over the State, including some employees of the State Secretariat, the senior most secretary of each administrative department is going to facilitate COVID-19 tests for their respective employees soon. They will also ensure maintenance of COVID-protocol in respect of social distancing, sanitization etc in their respective departments/ offices.

Meanwhile, though Janata Bhawan started operation from Monday, its gate is still closed for the general public. If any member of the public has anything important, he or she can contact the official concerned over telephone.

SAD (Secretariat Administration Department) Commissioner and Secretary Dr. M Angamuthu issued an order on Monday regarding attendance and COVID-19 protocol for Janata Bhawan employees.

In accordance with the guidelines it has been decided that the attendance in Assam Secretariat during the lockdown period up to August 2, 2020 shall be regulated as follows:

The senior most secretaries of the administrative departments will ensure that their respective departments/offices operate with 30 per cent strength of officers and staff.

However, female employees with children below ten years of age and pregnant women need not attend offices. They shall work from home and should be available on telephone and electronics means of communications at all times.
