Assam State Jamiat Ulama’s Post-NRC Peace Plea

GUWAHATI: The Assam State Jamiat Ulama has appealed to all sections of people in the State to maintain peace in the aftermath of the publication of the final NRC on August 31, 2019. It has also appealed to the government to be vigilant so that no untoward incident occurs in the State after the publication of the citizenship document. The Jamiat Ulama said that in the event of names of any genuine Indians not figuring in the final NRC, it will extend legal aid to them.
