Assam State Primary Teachers’ Association demand grade pay

GUWAHATI: The Assam State Primary Teachers’ Association announced that a steering meeting has been organized on June 2, 2019 at the Association Head Office Shikshak Bhawan in Chandmari. The Association President Jibon Chandra Bora and Secretary Ratul Chandra Goswami informed in a press meet that the meeting is with regard to a few demands the Association decrees worthy of attention.

The Association upheld that their prime demands included a seven pay commission for the headmasters, release of grade pay for the graduate teachers, regularization of contractual teachers, etc. Among their major source of agitation is the fact that even with the Half Yearly Examinations almost upon the students, most of the schools are yet to receive the course books. Raising concern for the students, the Association has decided to hold the meeting advancing their indispensable requirements.
