Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) Introduced 5 More AC Electric Buses

GUWAHATI: Under the scheme of FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacture of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles), ASTC has introduced five full AC electric buses in the second phase. Each bus runs on a 120 KW battery and needs two and a half hours of charging time, after which it can ride upto 120 kilometers. Charging stations are installed in ISBT, Betkuchi and ASTC Complex, Platanbazar. The route is to and fro from Kamakhya temple to Paltanbazar. It may be mentioned that previously, 25 electric buses were introduced in the first phase.
