GUWAHATI, July 18: The Assam State Urban Livelihoods Mission Society (ASULMS) is launching the expansion of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) in another 72 numbers of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in its Phase II along with ceremonial distribution of fund to the ULBs and Revolving Fund to woman Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Area Level Federations (ALFs) in a function to be held on July 26, at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati, a government communiqué said.

State’s Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Minister of State, Urban Development Department (Independent charge) Pijush Hazarika are expected to grace the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.

The DAY-NULM is a flagship Mission of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Govt of India and is implemented in Assam through ASULMS under Urban Development Department.

Some of the main agenda at the function to be held on July 26 are ceremonial fund release to 72 ULBs, amounting to Rs 1,26,00,000, 200 numbers of women SHGs from Guwahati will receive Revolving Fund amounting to Rs 10,000, total amount Rs. 20,00000, 8 numbers of Area Level Federations (ALF) from Guwahati will receive Revolving Fund amounting to Rs 50,000, total amount Rs. 4,00,000, felicitation of Sangam Area Level Federation of Kajalgaon, Chirang by the CM for being honoured with the Swachhata Excellence Awards under DAY-NULM for the year 2017-18 by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation and awards to SHGs for their best practices or innovation in the area of livelihoods promotion, the communiqué added.
