Assam Urban Development Minister Pijush Hazarika Inaugurates Five-day photo Exhibition

GUWAHATI, Aug 14: State’s Urban Development Minister Pijush Hazarika inaugurated a five-day photo exhibition on the theme of “Desh Ka Badta Jata Biswas, Saaf Niyat Sahi Vikas” at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Panjabari on Tuesday. The exhibition is being organized by the Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Guwahati.

Appreciating the ROB for organizing the exhibition, Minister Hazarika said that such initiative will help in disseminating of information about the government schemes and programmes among the public.

The exhibition displayed panels on various themes such as Swachh Bharat, Gokul Mission, Ujjawala Yojana, agriculture, GST, fight against corruption, Rural and Urban Development, women empowerment, development of electricity, development of sports, youth empowerment, development of science and technology, social justice and so on.

The panels are showcased in three languages viz. English, Hindi, and Assamese, so that the common public can understand the government schemes and programmes in a better way.

The Director-General, NEZone, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, KS Dhatwalia, Additional Director General, Imphal, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, SK Malviya, Deputy Director, ROB, Guwahati, Dr AM Farooqi and other officials of the department were also present on the occasion.

The five-day long exhibition is open for public from 14th to 18th August 2018. The exhibition will start at 9.30 am to 7.30 pm every day. The exhibition is organized as a part of the Independence Day celebration in all the States across the country.
