Assamese e-book on insurgency released at Guwahati Press Club

GUWAHATI: Guerrilla, an Assamese e-book depicting insurgency-related issues, was released at Guwahati Press Club on Saturday.

The book has been written by Biju Kumar Deka. Eminent writer and critic Arindam Barkataki and journalist Syed Zarir Hussein formally launched the e-book in the presence of many other delegates. Everyone present on the occasion said in unison that documentation, especially on such issues is very necessary. However, besides allowing the present generation to have the knowledge about insurgency, Guerrilla will help future generations to know many insurgency related issues.

The author Biju Kumar Deka said, "Possibly this is the first Assamese e-book. Readers can have access to the book through website. The book is based basically on interviews with the leaders of four revolutionary organizations of South East Asia. Besides the four organizations the book also depicts many other armed organizations of the Northeast. I thought of utilizing my free time in something productive during lockdown and thus the book is now ready to provide details about the functioning of revolutionary groups to the readers."
