At least 500 people officially join Asom Gana Parishad party ahead of Lok Sabha Elections

Guwahati: Not less than 500 people officially join the regional Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) today at the Ambari party headquarters ahead of the forthcoming elections from April next month.

Anchalikadabadi Asom Gana Parishad leader Sunil Rajkonwar also seen joining back the Asom Gana Parishad party officially today.

Rajkonwar while addressing the media had claimed that he was always against the decision of AGP forming an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The AGP party had always stated their stand clear and had also protested against the decision of introducing the most contentious and much debated Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016 by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The ideologies and agenda of the AGP have always for the rights of the indigenous people of the region and AGP will move ahead with the same, stated the leader further.

It may also be mentioned that earlier in the Assam Legislative Assembly Elections, former Anchalikadabadi AGP party had contested for 17 Legislative Assembly berths.

AGP Party President Atul Bora, Working President Keshab Mahanta among others was present today at AGP party office in Guwahati.
