Awards for six railway staff of N.F. Railway for devotion towards duty

GUWAHATI: Six railway staff namely Sikandar Paswan, Kailash Basfore, Suresh Mandal, Sachhan Kr. Choudhary, S. B. Chanda, and Mithu Boll, were awarded by General Manager, N.F. Railway for showing exceptional devotion towards duty. In recognition of their meritorious service by preventing accidents, all of them were awarded with a cash award of Rs. 2500 each along with a certificate by General Manager, N.F. Railway.

Sikandar Paswan, Track Maintainer under Katihar Division, while performing track inspection duty on Oct 11 detected “tongue rail fracture” at KM 136/0-1 between Sudhani - Barsoi stations. He immediately reported the matter to on-duty Station Manager of Sudhani and the concerned Section Engineer and protected the track. Kailash Basfore and Suresh Mandal both Sr. Technician, Jalpaiguri under Katihar Division while performing rounds in examination duty, detected “Secondary Coil Spring” broken in rear trolley of Pantry car of train no. 12346 DN Saraighat Express.
