Axom Rajyik Prathmik Shiksak Sanmilani Stage District-Wise Protest

GUWAHATI: A protest rally was organized by the Axom Rajyik Prathmik Shiksak Sanmilani in every district and sub-division on Tuesday. The Sanmilani led the procession to the offices of the DC and SDO and through them, presented a memorandum to the CM.

The agitation was in the wake of certain demands of the Sanmilani, where grade pay for primary teachers according to the VII pay commission urged. Among other demands, the release of the salary of the contractual teachers, along with making their posts permanent and cessation of the New Pension Scheme was demanded.

The president of the Sanmilani Jiban Chandra Bora stated before the press, “From Wednesday, the official duties of the Head Master will be ceased and he will also revoke his duty as secretary of the Teacher’s Association.”

General Secretary Ratul Chandra Goswami said that the Sanmilani had a guardian meeting and a public hearing on February 25, where the boycott and protest decisions were conveyed. “We stand firm by our resolution and would urge upon the CM to follow through our demands.”
