GUWAHATI: The Axom Sarba Siksha Abhiyan Mission has decided to defer ‘Gunotsav’ for an indefinite period until further notice. The programme was scheduled from February 4 to 6.
Gunotsav is a quality enhancement initiative of the State for bringing about improvement in learning levels of students at the elementary stage.
As per reports, the dates of the evaluation process clash with the forthcoming annual conferences of the Axam Xahitya Xabha and Sankardev Sangha. Teachers from various schools need to attend both the events, thus for the third time Gunotsav dates had to be deferred. Earlier the event was set to take place in two phases from December 3 to 6 and December 11 to 20 2019 but it was postponed as the dates were clashing with the annual examinations of the students. Gunotsav aims to evaluate schools and students of schools in order to assess their performance and design strategies to bring about quality improvement in levels of learning as well as in the school environment. The State Government has designated Axom Sarba Siksha Abhiyan Mission as the implementing agency of the programme.
