Axom Xahitya Xabha (AXX) Organizational Election from November 1

GUWAHATI: The Axom Xahitya Xabha (AXX) are preparing for their organizational polls to be held from November 1 to 10, 2019. The election will be for the positions of president, vice president and general secretary and a total number of 15 candidates have filed for nominations. The last day to file for nominations was on Friday.

A total of seven people have filed their names for the position of president- Dr Basanta Kr Goswami, Prahlad Ch Tasa, Dr Karabi Deka Hazarika, Surjya Kanta Hazarika, Pokhila Kalita, Jayashree Goswami Mahanta and Kuladhar Saikia. Four people have filed their names for the position of vice president- Dr Basanta Kr Sharma, Padum Gogoi, Mrinalinee Devi and Roti Mohan Nath. Four people have also filed their names for the position of general secretary- Harendra Kalita, Yadav Ch Sharma, Pdum Rajkhuwa and Debojit Bora. The AXX election committee informed that on Monday, between 11 am to 12 pm, contesting candidates can withdraw their names if they choose. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be done from October 12 to 15 and the final result declared during that time.
