GUWAHATI: To commemorate the 75th Independence Day celebration (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav), Ministry of Home Affairs, has directed to organise four cycle rallies by Central Reserve Police Force from four corners of the country. Accordingly, four routes have been decided by Central Reserve Police Force - Route I - Jammu (J&K) to Rajghat (New Delhi), Route II - Sabarmati Ashram (Gujarat) to Rajghat (New Delhi), Route III - Jorhat (Assam) to Rajghat (New Delhi) via Group Centre, Guwahati, and Route IV - Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu) to Rajghat (New Delhi)

Cycle rally on Route-III from Jorhat (Assam) to Group Centre, Guwahati reached at Group Centre, CRPF, Guwahati after covering a distance of 360 km on September 4, which was further flagged off for Siliguri by Bimal Bora, Minister of Sports & Youth Welfare on September 5, stated a press release.

The chief guest appreciated the CRPF's efforts for organizing this cycle rally and encouraged the cyclists and motivated them before flagging off the rally. The cycle rally marched off from Group Centre, CRPF, Guwahati, under command of Krishan Lal Dhiman, second-in-command of 175 Battalion CRPF. Pramod Kumar, Assistant Commandant of 175 Battalion, CRPF, along with 24 CRPF personnel, will be cycling 499 km to Siliguri.

A cultural programme, including Bihu dance, by CRPF wards, dance on patriotic song by CRPF wards, CRPF Band recital show, training module stage show by NEPA, presentation of songs by Bamboo Band and CRPF song with bamboo band by CRPF wards, was also organized in a grand way.
