Azara Police Nabs Two Frauds For Online Crimes

GUWAHATI, Aug 19: Azara police arrested two youths – Dilip Mohan Joysingh of Prafulla Enclave, House 2, Beltola hailing from Karnataka and Mayur Gogoi hailing from Sivasagar – from the Dharapur area in Kamrup (M) on Sunday for defrauding around 40 people in the name of online transaction using bitcoin.

Acting on a case filed by one Binod Gogoi at Azara police station (525/18 u/s 406/420 IPC), the police arrested the duo on Sunday. Two laptops, 13 ATMs, 18 stamps, four mobile sets, three chequebooks, PAN cards, passports, driving licences and Rs 13,140 from their possession.

According to the police, the duo defrauded people of Azara, Beltola, Sivasagar, etc. Investigation is on.
