Bandita Bora debate contest held in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The first Bandita Bora memorial debate competition organized by Bandita Bora Memorial Trust was held on Sunday at Tirthanath Sharma hall, Chandmari. Several teams from various schools participated at the competition. The topic of the debate was ‘Education System Centred around Marks Has Reduced Students to Mere Machines’, a press release said. Namrata Nayak and Rohan Prasad Sharma of St Francis De Seles HS School, Narengi received the first prize. Hritoshit Chakrabarty and Ankush Dev of Maharshri Vidya Mandir, Silpukhuri got the second prize. Krishti Patowary and Debarshee Sarma of Sudarshan Public School got the third prize. Consolation prizes went to Syed Dareeu Hanmash of Maria Public School and Akangkha Choudhary of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara. The speaker of the debate was Dr Dinesh Baishya, the release added.
