Bangladesh Assistant High Commissioner Calls on Assam Chief Secretary

GUWAHATI, Sept 6: Assistant High Commissioner and Head of Mission, Bangladesh High Commission, Guwahati, Shah Mohammad Tanvir Monsur called on the Assam Chief Secretary, Alok Kumar today at his office chamber at Janata Bhawan, Dispur. Both the official held a fruitful discussion regarding various issues taken up during the meeting. Amongst the issues discussed, priorities were given to improving air connectivity between both the countries; bus routes from Dhaka to Guwahati via Shillong and water connectivity to ensure more affordable routes for the common man. Matter related to tourism has also been given prominence during the discussion. More cultural exchange programmes between both the Countries will be given priority with the aim of improving relations between the two nations through people-to-people contact, a communiqué said.
