GUWAHATI: A 25-member team from Bangladesh, including 15 'Muktijodhas' (freedom fighters), six journalists and four youth members, are on a visit to Assam and Meghalaya. The 'Muktijodhas' left for Dhaka today, while the others are continuing their visit.

During their stay in Assam, members of the team made a courtesy call on Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday evening. State Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah was also present on the occasion.

They also visited Poa Mecca dargah in Hajo, the State Museum, Mahabahu Brahmaputra River Heritage Centre, Dr Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Kshetra , Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra etc.

During their visit to Meghalaya, the visitors held a meeting with members of the 'Old Friends of Mukti Bahini' in Shillong and visited various tourist attractions like Ward's Lake, Polo Ground, Rabindranath Tagore Art Gallery etc.
