Barnagaria Samaj demand Sorbhog-Guwahati train

GUWAHATI: A delegation of Barnagaria Samaj: Guwahati met the Rangiya Divisional Railway Manager and requested him to convert Sorbhog (SBE) station to a sub-urban terminal to enable the introduction of short-distance trains connecting various towns like Guwahati, Dekargaon and Dhubri. It is because Sorbhog is the nerve centre of Patiladaha, Kamargaon, Khudnabari, Barpeta, Burikhamar and Nuntola that produce the bulk of vegetables, sweets and other dairy products.

The delegation also requested the Rangiya Divisional Railway Manager to introduce a train between Sorbhog and Guwahati to arrive in Guwahati at 8 am and depart at 8 pm. It also raised the demand for the introduction of another train between Sorbhog and Dhubri.
