Beltola Double Murder Case: Prime Accused Akash Choudhary Confesses Murder

GUWAHATI: The prime accused in the murder case of an elderly couple in the Beltola area of Guwahati, Akash Choudhary confessed to the murder under police interrogation on October 28 night.

According to reports, the prime accused Akash will be interrogated again at the Basistha Police station in the presence of the joint police commissioner.

Meanwhile, the wife of Akash, Putu Das has also been brought to the Basistha Police station on Friday. This is followed by the possibility of full disclosure of the entire incident.

No further official information has been disclosed by the police in relation to the confession of Akash Das.

It may be recalled that the murder took place on October 26 at Sarve Chandan Nagar in Beltola.

The caretaker was arrested on the suspicion of murdering the elderly couple Nani Gopal Baruah and Meenu Baruah under the lure of property.

The caretaker Akash Choudhury and his wife, together with two others namely Satyendra Singh and Paresh Choudhury are now in police custody for their connection with the serious crime of murder. The motive behind the killing is suspected to be related to the properties of the Baruah couple.
