Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme district task force meeting held in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The District Task Force meeting under Beti Bachao Bet iPadhao Scheme, Kamrup Metropolitan District was held in the conference hall of the office of the Deputy Commissioner on Tuesday.

With the objective to ensure girl's participation in every field including education, a ceremonial distribution programme of cheque among the girls' topper of government/provincialized schools of Kamrup Metro in HSLC and HS (State board) exam 2020 and government/provincialized schools of the district achieving the target of 100 per cent transition of girl students from class V to VI, class VIII to IX and class X to XI was also organized.

In the programme, the identified BetiBachaoBetiPadhao local champion of the district, NC Rao and UpenGoswami were felicitated. The winners of the online speech competition held on the occasion of International Girl Child Day 2020 were also awarded with trophies and certificates.

PallaviKachari, ADC incharge Social Welfare, Kamrup Metropolitan District chaired the programme and delivered a speech to motivate girls for higher education.

KunjalataLachon, District Social Welfare Officer also encouraged the girls to participate in every field such as sports and other curriculum activities. The officials from Health, Education, Social Welfare, Police Administration, NF Railway, District Child Protection Unit, members of NGOs, teachers and students etc. were present in the programme.
