Bharat Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarika remembered on his 97th birth anniversary

GUWAHATI: Along with the rest of the world, the 97th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika was celebrated at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.

The officials of the airport offered floral tributes to the acclaimed singer, composer, writer, and filmmaker as they fondly remembered him, and the employees recalled his enormous contribution to Indian music, cinema, and literature. In the presence of more than 100 airport officials, COO Snehasish Dutta highlighted the cultural journey of Assam’s most lovable son of all time. He spoke to the gathering, explaining the illustrious journey of the bard from the bank of the Brahmaputra, whose sweet symphony was acknowledged across the globe from Ganga to Mississippi.

In addition, Banajit Ojah enumerated Bhupen Hazarika’s life journey and contribution to the state of Assam as well as to north-east India. He has included some distinctive contributions of Bhupen Hazarika in the fields of cultural, political, and social areas and said, “Bhupen Hazarika gave feelings of all emotions that an Assamese person may have in any situation. He is perhaps the most revered soul of Assam, adorable after Shrimanta Shankardev and Madhabdev.”
