GUWAHATI: More than three hundred college and university students participated in a mega quiz event for the youth called SBI NUMERO YONO held at ITA Centre Machkhowa in Guwahati on Thursday, February 28, 2019.
The contest was inaugurated by Prof Babhesh Chandra Goswami , Vice Chancellor of Cotton University, Guwahati in presence of Digmanu Gupta, General Manager (Network – II) and Ajay Kumar Singh, General Manager (Network-I) and Shekhar Srivastava, General Manager (CAO) of State Bank of India, North Eastern Circle among other spectators. Billed as the biggest nation-wide quiz contest, SBI’s Numero YONO is being conducted across 17 cities of India where SBI Local Head Offices are located, Guwahati being one of them. The quiz is an endeavour of SBI to bring digital service platform YONO closer to India’s youth. The team from Cotton University, Guwahati emerged winner at the end of the contest. Prizes worth Rs 3.72 lakh have been distributed to the winners in the form of scholarships. This team will participate in the grand finale to be conducted in Mumbai where the winning team will be conferred an annual scholarship upto Rs 5.85 lakh. All travel and stay expenses of the team will be borne by SBI, a press release stated.
