Biju Phukan Award Goes To Veteran Actor Bishnu Kharghoria

GUWAHATI: Veteran Assamese actor Bishnu Kharghoria has been preferred for the Biju Phukan Award 2019 by the Cultural Affairs Department, Government of Assam. The award will be conferred at a ceremony in Dibrugarh on February 18, the 72nd Birth Anniversary of Biju Phukan.

Kharghoria started his career as a child artist and along with movies, has also performed in numerous mobile theatres. He had also previously received the National Film Award for the movie Xagoroloi Bohudoor. The award will be handed over by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in the presence of Cultural Affairs Minister Naba Kr Doley and MP Rameshwar Teli and will hold Rs 2 lakh, a citation and an angabastra.
