Birendra Kumar Phukan’s songs re-recorded by Mandira Sarma Lahiri

GUWAHATI: An album with a compilation of songs originally sung by Birendra Kumar Phukan and newly recorded by Mandira Sarma Lahiri will be released at Rabindra Bhawan on March 13.

Addressing a press meet at Guwahati Press Club on Tuesday, Mandira Sarma Lahiri said that the album entitled Bohu Kotha Kowa Hol will be released by eminent Musician Sudakshina Sarma.

She said that the album comprises of a total of six songs which will be released under the aegis of the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Assam and the Assam Cultural Trust.

Lahiri added that she has re-recorded the songs with an objective to keep the evergreen songs alive among the upcoming generation.

It is to be mentioned that Dilip Kumar Hazarika and Lutfur Rahman will reminisce the company of Birendra Kumar Phukan in the occasion and there will be a programme by Lahiri prior to the release of the album.
