GUWAHATI: Minister and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president Atul Bora exuded confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)- AGP alliance would sweep the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) polls, which will be held on April 22.
Talking to The Sentinel, Bora said, "The BJP-AGP alliance will win in all 60 wards. Already the BJP has won in three wards uncontested. The AGP has fielded candidates in seven wards and we will in all of them.
"Our main thrust in the election campaign has been the development that the State has seen during the rule of the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government. Solving the burning problems of the city is our priority. The government has already prepared a roadmap for this and the government will move forward towards execution of the roadmap, with the cooperation of the new council that will be formed."
