BJP gears up for 70th birth anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi

GUWAHATI: The State BJP is gearing up for holding the 70^th birth anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as 'Service Week' from September 14-20, the birthday of party's ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyay on September 25 and the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi as the week for 'Be vocal for local then global' from September 25 to October 2. The birthday of the Prime Minister is on September 17.

Holding a series of marathon meetings here in Assam, BJP's national organizational general secretary BL Santosh held talks with party office-bearers at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan here on Thursday. The meeting was presided over by party president Ranjeet Kumar Dass. Besides taking a number of political decisions, the meeting discussed the future course of action of the party. According to the decisions, on September 4 the new committee of the party will hold its first executive meeting. The meeting will set the agenda for the first 100 days of the committee.

Santosh had a number of meetings here – with Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday at his residence and at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan later.
