GUWAHATI: The BJP has hit back at APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) president Ripun Bora and said that "jealous of the BJP-led government's success in meeting the promises made in the successive budgets the Congress and the Left are out in a false campaign".

In a statement issued to the media on Saturday, BJP Assam Pradesh spokesperson SubhashDutta said, "Our government has met 90 per cent of the promises made in the successive budgets. The envious Opposition parties carrying out a false campaign won't work. Finance Minister HimantaBiswaSarma has made it clear the implementation of Budget promises. Let the Congress leaders face the Minister on this.

"The government led by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has given land pattas to 1.08 lakh indigenous people of the State. However, APCC president Ripun Bora is criticizing the people who've received land pattas. The Budget expenditure of the Congress government was Rs 42,000 crore against Rs 85,000 crore of the BJP government in the last financial year. This has made Bora frustrated. The Congress has been laughing at the people who have been benefited by various government schemes. By criticizing such schemes the Congress has exposed its mindset. Around 1.50 crore people have been benefited through various schemes, including the Central government schemes, in the State. Such schemes were taken based on demands of the people of the State.

"Now students can continue higher education free of cost. However, during the Congress regime such students had to dropout due to poverty. Around 90,000 people have been benefited in the State under the AtalAmritAbhiyan. This apart, 1,32,279Divyangs get Rs 1,000 per month as pension under the DeenDayalDivyangSahajyaAsoni. These are some stark differences between the works of the BJP and the Congress governments, and the people of the State can distinguish the two.

"During the Congress regime such schemes were launched to siphon off funds. After the BJP coming to power in the State, it has to cancel 36,000 fake ration cards, four lakh fake job cards, seven lakh fake beneficiaries under the Social Welfare departments etc."
