GUWAHATI, Sept 22: A strong delegation of the BJP comprising of around 40 members today submitted a memorandum to Governor PB Acharya at Raj Bhavan alleging some serious fincial lapses and scams in the State.

The delegation, led by the State party president Siddhartha Bhattacharjee and the party’s central observer for Assam Dr. Mahendra Singh, comprises all the seven elected MPs of the party from Assam, including Union minister Sarbanda Sonowal, party MLA Jadav Deka, and other office-bearers. The memorandum alleged serious fincial lapses and scams relating to infrastructure of schools, hospitals, roads, deteriorating law-and-order situation, insecurity among women and serious allegations about Centrally-funded welfare projects.

The Governor gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation that he will forward the memorandum to the Chief Minister for action. He also said that he will call the ministers concerned where serious allegations of fincial lapses are there, so that the BJP leaders and ministers face to face can address the issues. He further said that if any officials are found guilty to the alleged offences, action will be taken as per law.

The Governor requested the MLAs and MPs to come out in detail with their development fund performances in their own Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies.
